Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central Schools also has a student led maple syrup production facility sugar house. The VVS FFA Maple partakes in maple weekend events and gives tours of their facility.

At New York’s Maple Weekend, farmers from across NY open up their sugar houses for the public. Visitors can experience firsthand the production behind the infamous maple syrup.

Nurseries & Horticulture

Nurture your green thumb at nurseries across Central New York, where fresh food is complemented by gorgeous greenery and botanical beauty.

Nestled in Greater Binghamton, The Cutler Botanic Garden is a center for teaching horticulture and the value of natural resources. Educational activities are hosted at the garden to inform community members on how to grow plants without harming the environment. The garden is often used as an outdoor classroom for students.
